AmeriCorps Member Workforce Specialist (3391)
Role Focus:
- Provide direct service to participants through career planning and job search support.
- Each member is responsible for tracking and documenting at least 15 hours of career planning and job search skills for a minimum of 20 assigned participants.
- Emphasis on helping participants graduate program goals, secure employment, or advance their careers.
Key Duties:
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group career advancement sessions.
- Develop Career Success Plans for participants pursuing jobs or advancement.
- Monitor, document, and report participant progress with case notes.
- Connects participants to community resources, agencies, and post-secondary opportunities (referral to supportive services such as transportation, childcare, housing) and to workforce and career services (college, technical training, military, or employment).
- Conduct classroom instruction on goal setting, financial literacy, and career development. Facilitate workshops on job search skills, résumé building, interview preparation, and workplace professionalism.
- Provide individualized job coaching support through regular check-ins, goal setting, and motivational guidance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
