Position Summary

Our Compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Team is looking for an energetic, highly focused and analytical individual to join us for a high-impact, 12-month project. Upon successful completion of the project, there is a high likelihood that the successful candidate will transition into a permanent position.

As the AML Champion, you will gain hands-on experience and invaluable exposure to various facets of Financial Crime Compliance. This includes:

  • Developing an understanding of core anti-money laundering concepts such as Know Your Customer (“KYC”).

  • Analysing sanctions and financial crime name screening alerts

  • Monitoring financial transactions.

  • Investigating potential red flags.

  • Exposure and opportunities to contribute to initiatives that utilize AI and technology to drive change and efficiency.

This is an excellent, "roll-up-your-sleeves" opportunity to gain exposure and deepen your experience in the various facets of Financial Crime Compliance. You will be an active team member, focused on the timely completion of assigned tasks whilst contributing to a meaningful impact in the financial industry, and gaining a holistic overview of the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Name Screening (Primary Scope)

    • Perform name screening reviews on customers and related parties against relevant watchlists and adverse media sources.

    • Assess potential name matches and determine materiality and relevance.

    • Escalate true hits and support further investigation where required.

  • Transaction Monitoring

    • Perform review and analysis of alerts generated from transaction monitoring systems.

    • Identify unusual or suspicious transaction patterns, behaviours, and anomalies.

  • Customer Due Diligence

    • Assists in onboarding and ongoing due diligence (Trigger Events/Periodic Reviews) processes.

    • Support Customer Risk Assessment (CRA) and risk profiling activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Keen interest in financial crime risk management and investigative work.

  • Strong analytical thinking with keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Python, SQL and C++

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Creative and inquisitive to explore fresh perspectives utilizing AI and technology to drive change or efficiencies.
