AMMUNITION INSPECTOR
This AMMUNITION INSPECTOR position, is located in the United States Property & Fiscal Office (USPFO) Supply & Services Division, Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification and is part of the CA USPFO Army.
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the AMMUNITION INSPECTOR, WG-6501-9, is to perform the handling, storage, examining, transporting, and identifying of ammunition and explosives to detect defects, serviceability, deterioration, and compliance with all ammunition and explosives regulations, acceptable standards, specifications, or contractual requirements, as well as policy and procedures. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current CA National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current CA National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the CA National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 or W-1 through W-5 or O-1 through O-3 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must be certified in Hazardous Waste Site Personnel (29 CFR1910.120). Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Must be cleared IAW requirements of AR 190-11 (Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives) and must pass a local and national law enforcement files check. Must meet the requirements of DA PAM 385-64, other applicable regulations, as well as validation by the ammunition and explosives safety certification board. Must complete a Training and Certification Program for personnel working in ammunition operations. Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.
