The AI Implementation & Data Science Analyst combines technical depth with a genuine commitment to ACC mission and desire to meet the expectations of cardiologists and other constituents who seek a personalized, data-driven, and digital-forward professional home. This role will help ACC retain and attract members and customers through intuitive AI-powered experiences across ACC touchpoints. This role bridges technical and business solutions expertise to ensure that data-driven insights and AI solutions are effectively operationalized and deliver member value. This is a hands-on role requiring definition of big problems that can be solved using AI tools, ACC platform capabilities, and ACC’s evolving data infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is action-oriented, comfortable making decisions with incomplete information in fast-moving environments. They possess strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and articulate value propositions to stakeholders. This role will also help shape how the organization adopts AI thoughtfully, balancing innovation with privacy, as well as ethical and equity considerations.
- Deliver 1-3 “wins” a year by working with the DVP of Enterprise Content and Digital Strategy and other leaders to identify use cases where we can leverage data, platforms, and AI tools to improve digital user experience, optimize content delivery, and improve staff efficiency. This can include automating a manual process to reduce staff burden, developing proof of concept based on a use case and agreed-upon requirements, or delivering on a member-facing enhancement that improves the experience with the College.
- Lead pilot initiatives and scale successful AI solutions that advance digital experience and continue to position ACC as an education leader and member-first organization.
- Help assess platform (e.g. Salesforce, SitecoreAI, Oasis) capabilities and internal AI tools alongside behavioral, engagement, and performance data to deliver intelligent content recommendations that match user journeys.
- Identify and document what data is needed to achieve personalized learning pathways, ACC engagement recommendations, and a more integrated profile across ACC platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and the Chief Data Officer to ensure clean, integrated, and accessible data across systems that align with data models and pipelines that support advanced analytics, reporting, and customer-facing views.
- Build off digital and data strategy initiatives, such as the engagement score, to analyze marketing segments and assist with marketing automation capabilities.
- Educate staff on AI capabilities and promote a data-driven culture. Ensure ethical, compliant, and transparent use of AI and data and champion responsible AI and data practices.
- Execute the design, validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring of models (ML and LLM), ensuring they meet the standards of safety, performance, and explainability.
- In partnership with the Chief Data Officer, help define data governance, documentation, and model-monitoring standards as the organization's data maturity grows.
- Challenge conventional thinking and work with stakeholders to improve the status quo and build scalable solutions.
- Stay current with developments in data science and AI and advise leadership on where new tools can responsibly create value.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, epidemiology, public health, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of applied experience in data science, machine learning, business analysis, or quantitative analysis.
- Experience working in AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, etc.
- Knowledge of data architecture and related tools (e.g., Python (and/or R), SQL) for prototyping purposes.
- Experience working within digital platforms (CMS, CRM, or content ecosystems).
- Solid foundation in statistics, machine learning and LLM, with the judgment to choose appropriate methods and communicate their limitations honestly.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
- Ability to translate technical work into clear language for non-technical audiences.
- A strong understanding of data privacy and ethics, and the discretion to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare data and familiarity with HIPAA and PHI handling.
- Hands-on experience applying large language models or generative AI in production or pilot settings.
Background in the non-profit, healthcare, or mission-driven sector.
