Analyst - Business Development and Strategic Planning
JOB SUMMARY:
An early career position for a professional who is seeking to build expertise in the edible oils & fats business and its derivatives in an exciting and fast-growing group, within the area of Downstream Business Development and Strategic Planning (DS-BDSP). A project-based role supporting DS-BDSP by conducting research, performing analysis, making recommendations for organic and inorganic initiatives, and forming strategy.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct market, industry, and competitor research and data analysis—including trend identification, market sizing, benchmarking, and high-level risk assessment—to generate insights that support strategic planning, new business evaluation, and decision-making
2. Assist in the preparation of financial models, business cases, and valuation analyses for organic or inorganic initiatives
3. Contribute to the development of strategic presentations, reports, and materials for management and leadership discussions
4. Create clear and informative dashboards and visualizations to present data in a visually appealing manner aiding data-driven decision making
5. Support deal process (M&A, Investment, JV, Strategic Partnership, IPO): (1) Preparation / review of data room; (2) Coordination with external advisers and internal stakeholders; (3) Reviewing of transaction documents
6. Support as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT/technical teams, translating business needs into functional/technical requirements and ensuring alignment throughout design, development and UAT
7. Conduct AS-IS process analysis and gap assessment, partnering with business stakeholders to re-engineer processes (TO-BE) that deliver cost savings, improved quality, operational efficiency, and risk reduction
8. Track key business performance indicators and support periodic reporting on business performance, strategic initiatives, and project outcomes
9. Participate in business travels, if required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, Computing, Data Analytics or related fields
- 0-2 years working experience in Management Consulting / Corporate Finance (M&A) / Business Analyst / Data Analytics
- Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds combining analytical, data, or technology capabilities and finance/business expertise are strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Financial Modelling and Strong Accounting Knowledge required
- Proficiency in MS Office required e.g. Advanced Excel - VBA, PowerPoint and Word
- Proficiency in Business Analytics tools preferred e.g. PowerBI, Microsoft Power Platform Skills
