P3SUMMARY
The Analyst – Business Intelligence & Analytics turns marketplace, shopper, and consumer data into clear, actionable direction for business unit and category teams across Tyson’s leading brands.
The individual will:
- Answer short-term and long-range business questions using syndicated POS and consumer panel data
- Support operational decisions the business unit can activate within budget and which tactics (trade, promotion, marketing) will best drive growth and generate demand
- Build business scenarios and size the financial and growth impact of recommendations
- Provide forecasting support for base brands and innovation
The position reports to the Associate Director of Analytics and works closely with category team leadership, marketing, sales, finance, and supply chain, including developing and maintaining internal tools that guide business unit decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers ongoing analytics, business planning, and scenarios that inform business unit decisions on production, portfolio priorities, and resource allocation
- Identifies higher-opportunity segments and recommends where and how to shift focus, spending, and tactics to capture growth
- Performs analysis to develop pricing, trade, promotion, and merchandising strategies; gain competitive intelligence; and size white space opportunities
- Uses consumer insights to build business cases and opportunity assessments, grounding recommendations in the end-consumer’s needs, including product positioning
- Makes recommendations on new product launches and support spending
- Partners cross-functionally with Innovation, Marketing, R&D, Sales, suppliers, agencies, and consultants, managing supplier projects within cost constraints
- Advances the team’s analytics best practices, benchmarks, and internal tools
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Marketing Research, or related field; training in statistics and quantitative analysis a plus
- 1 year of syndicated data (NIQ, Circana) experience across POS and Panel preferred, with exposure to how marketing and advertising stimulate consumer demand
- Experience working directly in a retail food store (store operations) or with retail food store decision-making preferred
- Food or branded consumer-goods industry experience a plus
- Excellent quantitative and analytical ability; strong Excel and Microsoft Suite skills; experience with Claude, Copilot, or other AI tools a plus
- Demonstrated success leveraging consumer insights to drive business results
- Strong oral and written communication; able to develop an objective point of view and build constructive rapport with internal clients and research suppliers
- Knowledge of quantitative approaches used in pricing and trade event response and optimization; need state, market structure, or household segmentation; and test-and-learn
