Job Overview

UX Design Lead: Lead complex UX initiatives across TE’s digital ecosystem, driving design strategy, design systems, and user-centered solutions. Partner with cross-functional teams, mentor designers, and guide projects from discovery to implementation while ensuring accessibility, governance, and scalable digital experiences.

Roles & Responsibility:

  • Lead end-to-end UX strategy and design for high-impact web, data product, and enterprise platform experiences.
  • Coordinate UX workstreams for complex, cross-functional initiatives, establishing clear project plans, timelines, expectations, and accountability across participating teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, developers, DCS, AEM implementation teams, Marketing, and business unit partners to translate complex business requirements into intuitive, scalable user experiences.
  • Be the Bangalore lead for UX design-related needs: lead project deliverables, manage time, provide project communications, and create visibility into status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Partner with UX Manager to define playbooks, documentation structures, governance processes, and hand-off protocols that enable consistent UX delivery across teams, acting as a major owner of the DesignOps definition and implementation.
  • Own and evolve the TE.com design system, including component documentation, modular functionality, responsive behavior, design variants, and digital-first brand adaptations.
  • Develop and maintain UX best practices documentation to support design team workflows, content author guidance, and alignment across product, development, BU, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Create functional design requirements, annotated mocks, design acceptance criteria, and implementation-ready hand-off documentation for development teams.
  • Use research, testing, analytics, accessibility standards, and performance considerations to continuously iterate and optimize digital solutions.
  • Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and design system assets with attention to usability, WCAG 2.2 accessibility, brand adherence, and implementation feasibility.
  • Advocate for user needs across projects while balancing business goals, governance requirements, technical constraints, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning discussions, design reviews, and stakeholder presentations to drive alignment, adoption, and shared understanding of UX processes and deliverables.
  • Guide junior team members through UX mentorship, coaching, documentation standards, and design system best practices.
  • Work independently and effectively in cross-functional global teams across time zones, driving progress through coordination, facilitation, and influence rather than direct authority.
  • Tolerate ambiguity and perform at an exceptional level by creating structure, surfacing risks, and guiding teams toward clear decisions and outcomes.

  • Ability to define and present clear case studies that connect UX work to business value, operational efficiency, adoption, accessibility, and user experience outcomes.
  • Experienced in operationalizing design through DesignOps practices, including systematizing design processes, managing design infrastructure, documenting standards, and enabling cross-functional collaboration for efficient delivery.
  • Experience creating or governing design system documentation, reusable component libraries, component variants, responsive design standards, and design hand-off templates.
