Analyst, Finance Transformation

Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firm’s financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firm’s strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firm’s financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost-saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firm’s financial stability and supports its growth objectives.

Position Summary

The Analyst, Finance Transformation will assist with the rollout, testing, and adoption of AI-enabled tools and automated processes across the Finance function. This role will work with Finance, Innovation & AI, and Technology teams to help identify practical use cases, document requirements, support user testing, and gather feedback on new tools and process improvements. The position will also help maintain documentation, training materials, and guidance to support responsible use of AI and automation within Finance.

The role requires a general understanding of the procedures for handling core finance processes, including but not limited to; accounting, accounts payable, cash applications, and billing. The successful candidate will also have experience with workflow or automation tools, as well as a strong interest in AI and emerging technologies. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with business users, technology teams, and management.

Duties and Accountabilities

The roles and responsibilities of this job include:

• Work with Finance, Innovation & AI, and Technology teams to support the development, design, rollout, and adoption of AI-enabled tools and automated processes across finance teams
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI solutions and automation tools
• Collect, organize, and evaluate AI prompts, use cases, and automation ideas from Finance teams
• Perform process and data analysis to support transformation efforts
• Test AI solutions and automation tools to confirm they aligned with finance process needs
• Assist with user acceptance testing, issue tracking, and follow-up after new tools or process changes are implemented
• Document current processes, proposed changes, user feedback, and business requirements
• Prepare and maintain training and reference materials
• Provide user support and deliver training to encourage adoption of AI and automation tools
• Track metrics, feedback, and outcomes to measure the impact and value of automation activities
• Skills
• General understanding of core finance and accounting processes
• Able to interact effectively with technical teams, business users, and management
• Strong critical thinking skills to navigate and troubleshoot issues
• Demonstrated ability to see issues through from start to finish
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3 years of experience in finance operations, finance systems, accounting, business process improvement, or a related area required
• Exposure to automation technologies such as workflow tools, RPA, machine learning, or generative AI solutions required
• Strong interest in AI and emerging automation technologies required
• Experience developing process documentation, knowledge resources, and internal training content required
• Experience working with Elite 3E or similar finance systems preferred
• Law firm or professional services experience preferred
