Summary

The Analyst, Poultry Accounting, reports to the Accounting Director and provides analytical support across balance sheet fluctuation analysis, capital post-audit reporting, plant budgets, selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) cost center budgeting, controllership, and working capital reporting. The Analyst pulls and validates data, updates models, applies artificial intelligence (AI) tools to compress cycle time, and helps keep multiple recurring deadlines on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet fluctuation analyses and support controllership activities, documenting explanations that withstand controller and audit review.
  • Facilitate the capital post-audit process: coordinate the cycle, review submissions for accuracy, and report consolidated results for the Chicken capital portfolio to leadership.
  • Support the annual plant budget cycle: issue templates and assumptions, coordinate submissions with plant controllers, and help consolidate individual plant budgets into a single segment total.
  • Serve as the primary reporting resource and facilitator for Chicken SG&A cost center budgets: report actuals against plan and projection and coordinate the working forecast.
  • Prepare working capital reporting and projections, with commentary on trends, outliers, and cost drivers.
  • Pull and validate data, maintain and improve Excel models, and help build Power BI reporting that replaces recurring manual work.
  • Apply AI tools to reduce cycle time on recurring deliverables and document the resulting processes.
  • Provide project management support on finance initiatives: track workstreams and deadlines, follow up on open items, and keep status current.

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with core accounting concepts.
  • Practical use of AI tools to accelerate analytical work, with the judgment to validate output.
  • Exposure to a multi-site budget or planning cycle.
  • Strong Excel modeling capability and attention to detail on recurring reporting.
  • Comfort working across Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Curiosity about the drivers behind working capital, SG&A, and capital returns, and how they connect to the profit and loss (P&L) statement and the balance sheet.

Role Impact

This role strengthens Poultry segment accounting and finance by improving the consistency and usefulness of segment-wide reporting and planning. The Analyst produces balance sheet fluctuation analyses, capital post-audit roll-ups, plant and SG&A budget consolidations, and working capital reporting the Chicken finance team relies on to explain results and inform cost, capital, and cash decisions.
