SUMMARY
The Middle Office Analyst II role is responsible for the support of post-execution life cycle of trade, security, and cash activity on the accounting system. The Analyst II will act as the day-to-day contact with the client and interacting with the individuals internally as applicable to daily duties assigned. The Analyst II will perform various duties as part of the middle office, adhering to processes and deadlines. Duties are operational with a focus on providing top-level client service.
Duties may include processing accounting; performance reporting; and/or generating statements, invoices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Operations
Processes client trading activity daily, weekly, or monthly as applicable to specific task or client requirement to the accounting system
Monitors the trade and/or security lifecycle and liaisons with the client, the client’s custodians and trading counterparties to resolve any discrepancies identified as part of accounting or settlement activity or reconciliation of activity
Processes trading, security, and cash activity accurately and timely to the accounting system
Provides reporting timely and accurately
Understands and processes activity within the established department guidelines
Appropriately escalates to client or assistant manager
Reviews and validates high-risk processes performed by a co-worker
Assists training co-workers
Additional duties
Identifies and contributes to process improvements and development enhancements
Assists in the onboarding of new client relationships and portfolios
Participates in user acceptance testing, departmental documentation, and strategic initiatives of the departments as needed
May perform other duties as requested and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with internal and external parties
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively transition between competing priorities, deadlines and client requests with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge of Trade Management products, or Accounting platform, or Performance Reporting and familiarity with financial markets and instruments is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of experience in related field is a plus
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
