Analyst designs and implements tax technology solutions, gathers requirements, and collaborates with global teams to automate and improve tax processes using tools like Alteryx, Power BI, and SQL.
We are seeking someone to join our Indirect Tax team as a Analyst in Tax Department to play a pivotal role in transforming tax processes by designing and implementing innovative technology solutions, collaborating with global teams, and directly shaping the future of tax technology at Morgan Stanley.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.

What you'll do in the role:
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Develop an understanding of Finance functional area, tools and processes
- Responsible for tasks to support team deliverables, with guidance, and appropriately escalate issues to ensure timely and effective resolution
- Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls
- Uphold the Firm's values and hold yourself accountable to Firm standards- Assist in identifying and building solutions that transform manual processes in tax
- Integral in developing Morgan Stanley Tax Technology Software
- Support the Global Tax team by working with users to design custom software solutions.
- Tasks include: Understanding requirements and pain points , Generate Business Requirements Document, Create User stories, Work directly with development team throughout the SDLC cycle, Write test cases and verify changes are working as expected
- Build solutions for Tax where appropriate using End User tools such as: Alteryx, SharePoint Online, Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and UI Path
- Perform ad-hoc duties to support Tax Department including proactively organizing and prioritize day-to-day tasks {D Part 2: Scope of Role ?What you?ll bring?}
What you'll bring to the role:
- Willingness to learn Finance principles, tools and systems
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a professional environment

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, and Finance/Accounting
- Experience in software design/development, Finance and/or Information Technology with demonstrated skills in related technology systems would be generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Experience as a Technical Business Analyst with one or more of the following skills (if you have any experience in any of these skills please apply): Experience designing websites with User Centered Design / Creating wireframes / Gathering requirements from users / Create User stories and/or Business Requirement documents / Microsoft Power Platform including any of the following: Power BI, Power query, Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint / Alteryx / Python / Six Sigma any belt or knowledge of related process processes / SCRUM/Agile/Project Management experience / Automated or manual Quality Testing of custom software systems / Relational databases (SQL) / No SQL / Understanding basic knowledge of how websites work: HTLM, CSS, SPA (Single Page Applications), JAVA, or Angular / Knowledge of any tax systems: Oracle TRCS, Corptax
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent problem-solving and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Confidence working with colleagues in worldwide business locations
- At least 0-2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
