Job Description
As an Analyst Programmer, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining in-house business applications that support the company's operational and strategic objectives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions while ensuring compliance with company standards and ISO documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and understand business requirements, and translate them into clear Functional Specifications.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain in-house applications using C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, SQL Server, and related technologies.
- Design and develop intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly application interfaces to enhance user experience.
- Design and optimize relational databases, database objects, and SQL queries to ensure performance, scalability, and data integrity.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including:
o Functional Specifications
o Technical Specifications
o System Design Documents
o Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD)
o Database Design Documents
o API Documentation
o Deployment Guides
o Change Logs
o Other technical documentation required to support ISO compliance
- Develop user manuals, operating procedures, and training materials, and conduct user training sessions when required.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing in-house applications to meet evolving business requirements.
- Perform system testing, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution to ensure application reliability and quality.
- Participate in application deployment, production releases, and post-implementation support.
- Provide after-office-hours or weekend support for production system deployments and critical production issues when required.
- Collaborate with business users, vendors, and internal IT team members to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Ensure all software development activities comply with company security policies, coding standards, and established development methodologies.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong experience in:
o C#
o .NET8+ / ASP.NET Core
o Python
o Microsoft SQL Server
o RESTful API development
o JavaScript/ TypeScript
o Node.js
- Experience in designing relational databases, writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database optimization.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), object-oriented programming (OOP), and software design principles.
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development practices.
- Experience in creating technical documentation and system documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of application security best practices and secure coding techniques.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with users across different business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver quality work within project timelines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- A positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve application quality, security, and user experience.
- Experience in the Logistics, Freight Forwarding industry will be an added advantage.
