The role – Analyst



Purpose of the job

To provide commercial analytical support to the business in relation to current investments, business plans and reporting, as well as new business opportunities.


Outcomes I am responsible

    Investment Analysis

    • Undertaking property investment analysis to support the business to make informed, evidence-based investment decisions.
    • Participating in key business transactions as required, including the development of financial models that are capable of performing the required financial and sensitivity analysis
    • Assisting in the production of internal, investor and board reporting documents
    • Assisting in the due diligence process for new business
    • Undertaking the market/industry research required to support business investment decisions
    • Liaising with other parts of the wider business to finalise investment analysis and reporting.

    Business Planning/ Budgeting

    • Ensuring commercial models are up to date to feed into consolidated forecasts
    • Developing and maintaining an understanding of the forecast models
    • Assisting with model reviews / checking as required
    • Assisting with the development of written business plans.

    Commercial Support

    • Ongoing management and development of commercial models supporting investment properties and developments
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with the wider property team and keeping abreast of business operations and developments
    • Providing analytical support to assess the financial and value impact of alternative strategies within existing investments and funds
    • Providing support for investor / analyst queries.

    Other

    • Keeping up to date with industry research and news and the broader business and economic environment.

    • Following safety instructions and challenge procedures and processes that appear unsafe
    • Always working in a manner that never compromises safety to yourself or anyone else
    • Undergoing safety training relevant to role

    What a typical day might look like

      • Updating commercial models so that they feed into consolidated forecasts
      • Liaising with internal teams to finalise analysis and recommendations for inclusion in internal, investors and board reporting documents
      • Undertaking a benchmark review on the performance of property investment and providing an update to the team on your findings
      • Assisting in the due diligence process for new business opportunities
      • Peer reviewing a financial model
      • Meeting with a fund team to gather information for the development of written business plans
      • Analysing and assessing the financial and value impact of alternative strategies within existing investments and funds
      • Drafting responses to investor/analyst queries.


      Qualifications

      • Experience in Fund management/Property/Valuations
      • Tertiary qualification/s in relevant field e.g. Property


      Role specific experience

      • Experience developing financial models is desirable but not essential
      • Experience applying technical analysis to provide commercial insight
      • Developed communication and professional writing skills
      • Ability to present complex financial and commercial information utilising the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.).
