Analyst, Workday HCM
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Analyst, Workday HCM based in the United States.
This is a fully remote opportunity supporting the ongoing evolution, optimization, and reliability of Workday HCM and connected HR technologies.
You will work across HR functional areas, combining analytical thinking, system configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
The role provides an opportunity to influence how HR teams use technology while ensuring data integrity, controls, and efficient ways of working.
You will translate business and functional requirements into practical technical solutions and help manage enhancements throughout their lifecycle.
As an HCM subject matter expert, you will contribute to Workday releases, system upgrades, data activities, and cross-functional implementation work.
The position involves close collaboration with HR teams, vendors, technical partners, and diverse stakeholders across the organization.
It is well suited to a proactive Workday professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working at the intersection of HR and technology.
Accountabilities:
- Support the business configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Workday HCM and related HR systems.
- Maintain areas such as Workday security, business processes, tenant configuration, data loads, system upgrades, and downstream integrations or processes.
- Partner with HR functional teams to understand business needs and translate non-technical requirements into clear technical concepts and solutions.
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and deliver Workday enhancements, functional modifications, and system improvements.
- Provide troubleshooting and post-production migration support for Workday and other HR technology solutions.
- Serve as a Workday HCM subject matter expert, helping functional teams understand system capabilities, dependencies, and best practices.
- Participate actively in Workday releases, assessing new functionality and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and ways of working.
- Contribute to multiple functional workstreams focused on implementing, optimizing, and scaling HR technology solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR team efficiency through Workday, Microsoft 365 workflows, Monday.com, and other appropriate technology solutions.
- Synthesize and present HR data to identify trends, support data integrity audits, and inform functional workstream requirements.
- Establish and maintain appropriate controls, standards, and technical documentation for HR systems and processes.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver effective solutions.
- Help coordinate and motivate diverse project contributors and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
- Perform additional responsibilities and support HR technology initiatives as business needs evolve.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Workday HCM is required; 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of Workday HCM functionality, including Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Performance, and related modules.
- Strong understanding of HR systems, business processes, technical interdependencies, configuration, and system maintenance.
- Experience with Workday security, business process configuration, tenant configuration, data loads, releases, and upgrades is highly valuable.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions and clear documentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to identifying issues and developing solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn additional software platforms and technology tools as required.
- Workday Pro or Workday HCM certification is highly preferred, although no certification is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, documentation, controls, and quality.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational agility and the ability to manage multiple priorities and functional workstreams.
- Demonstrated relationship-management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, HR teams, technical partners, and other stakeholders.
