Analytics Engineer

Summary

Analytics Engineer responsible for owning the Gold layer of medallion architecture, building executive dashboards, defining data visualization best practices, and maintaining data marts using SQL, dbt, and BI tools like Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Mode.

Responsibilities
  • Own the Gold layer of the medallion architecture by defining and maintaining business metrics and semantic models
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards and visualizations to communicate key insights
  • Define and enforce best practices for data visualization and storytelling
  • Build and maintain data marts and semantic layers across multiple domains
  • Review and certify dashboards for accuracy and consistency
  • Collaborate with data engineering to ensure Silver layer tables meet business needs
  • Implement data quality tests, documentation, and lineage tracking
  • Serve as a bridge to data science for feature stores and model outputs
  • Participate in a hub-and-spoke model to support stakeholder decision-making
Requirements
  • 2-5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data visualization
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
  • Expertise in BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Mode
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Experience designing curated datasets, semantic layers, and data marts
  • Understanding of medallion architecture and data governance
  • Solid grasp of versioning, testing, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines
  • Strong data storytelling and presentation skills
