Anaplan & Data Architecture (Sr. Manager or Director)

About the role

Bazooka Inc. is looking for a (Sr. Manager or Director) of Anaplan & Data Architecture to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our connected planning ecosystem. Reporting to the CIO, you will own the Anaplan platform strategy and the underlying data architecture that powers enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges technical depth with business partnership across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations.

What you’ll do

• Own the end-to-end Anaplan platform roadmap — model design, workspace governance, release management, and continuous improvement.
• Define and enforce data architecture standards: data modeling, integration patterns, master data governance, and lineage documentation.
• Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to translate business planning requirements into scalable Anaplan solutions.
• Lead a team of Anaplan model builders, data engineers, and integration developers; provide coaching, career development, and technical direction.
• Design and maintain integrations between Anaplan and source systems (ERP, CRM, PLM, data warehouse) using Anaplan Connect, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Establish data quality frameworks, testing protocols, and documentation standards across all planning models.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for platform performance, security, and access control issues.
• Drive adoption through training programs, user enablement, and a center of excellence (CoE) model.
• Evaluate and recommend complementary technologies (cloud data platforms, BI tools, AI/ML integrations) that extend planning capabilities.
• Manage vendor relationships with Anaplan and third-party implementation partners.

Requirements

Experience

• 8+ years in enterprise planning, FP&A, or data architecture roles
• 5+ years hands-on Anaplan model building (Master Anaplanner preferred)
• 3+ years leading cross-functional technical teams
• Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, or similar industry a plus

Technical skills

• Deep Anaplan model design: sparsity, dimensionality, ALM
• Data integration: REST APIs, Anaplan Connect, ETL/ELT tools
• Cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP
• SQL proficiency; Python or scripting a plus
• BI tools: Power BI, Tableau, or similar

Preferred qualifications

• Anaplan Master Anaplanner certification or Solution Architect accreditation.
• Experience with Anaplan’s predictive insights or machine learning integrations.
• Exposure to adjacent planning tools (Adaptive Insights, Pigment, Oracle EPM).
• Background in S&OP, IBP, or supply chain financial planning processes.
• Familiarity with data mesh, datalakehouse, or modern data stack architectures.
