Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, build, and maintain Android applications across devices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, performant mobile solutions integrated with backend services.
Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced Android applications that meet performance, quality, and responsiveness standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new Android features aligned with product goals
- Write and execute unit tests to ensure code robustness, usability, and reliability under various edge cases
- Identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs to improve application stability and user experience
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency and application capabilities
- Maintain code quality, organization, and automation practices to support scalable development
- Adhere to Google’s Material Design principles and Android development guidelines to ensure consistent UI/UX
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support mobile functionality and third-party integrations
- Adapt existing web applications for Android platforms when required to extend functionality
- Participate actively in code reviews and technical design discussions to improve codebase and architecture
- Stay updated with Android development terminology, concepts, and best practices to maintain technical excellence
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficient in Kotlin and Java programming languages for Android development
- Experience with Android frameworks and libraries including Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Android Jetpack Components, Room Database, LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation Component, and Coroutines
- Strong understanding of Android application architecture and design patterns such as MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture, and Singleton
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML parsing, and API consumption for mobile integration
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitLab to support automated builds and deployments
- Skilled in Git version control systems for source code management
- Knowledge of Firebase services including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), Crashlytics, and Analytics for app monitoring and user engagement
- Understanding of Android app security, performance tuning, and memory management to optimize app stability
- Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Espresso to ensure code quality
- Familiarity with Google Play Store deployment processes and release management
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills to resolve technical challenges
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger to improve code modularity
- Knowledge of Kotlin Flow and Reactive Programming concepts for asynchronous data handling
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments to support iterative development and continuous delivery
- Familiarity with mobile app monitoring and analytics tools to track app performance and user behavior
- Understanding of cloud platforms and backend integrations to enhance mobile app capabilities
