About Eka Care

Eka Care is building India's AI-native Health OS — connecting patients, doctors, and healthcare providers on one interoperable, ABDM-compliant platform. Our products span Eka Doc (EMR for clinics and hospitals), EkaScribe.AI (an AI medical scribe working across 15+ Indian languages), and Eka PHR (personal health records owned by patients).
90,000+ doctors and 33,000+ clinics and hospitals use the platform, with 140M+ medical records managed. We're a small, senior team, and our Android app is how millions of patients experience their health data — so the engineering bar is high and the impact is direct.

The Role

We're looking for an Android Developer with 2+ years of experience and strong fundamentals in Android, software design, and system-level concepts.
This is an ownership role. You'll take problems from ambiguous requirement through technical design to production — not just pick up tickets. You'll work on an app used by millions of patients to hold the most sensitive data they have, so quality, performance, and reliability aren't afterthoughts here.

What You'll Do

  • Own features end-to-end, from requirements and technical design to production.
  • Build scalable Android applications using Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Design clean, maintainable, and reusable code and components.
  • Work with databases, APIs, and local storage.
  • Debug and improve application performance using memory profiling and debugging tools.
  • Write reliable tests and follow TDD practices.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to understand both technical and functional requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering quality.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on Android development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture and core Android/native capabilities.
  • Good understanding of databases, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of OS and system-level concepts.
  • Strong understanding of code design and software design principles.
  • Experience with unit testing and TDD.
  • Experience with memory profiling and performance optimization.
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into clear and scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and ownership skills.
