Android Engineer

Summary

Develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for a restaurant management software client, handling legacy code and new features.

On behalf of our Client from France, Mobilunity is looking for an Android Engineer.
Our client is a table management software and CRM that enables restaurant owners to welcome their customers easily. The app is useful to manage booking requests and register new bookings. You can view all your bookings, day after day, wherever you are and optimize your restaurant’s occupation rate. Our client offers a commission-free booking solution that guarantees freedom above all. New technologies thus become the restaurateurs best allies for saving time and gaining customers while ensuring a direct relationship with them.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience building and shipping native Android applications using Kotlin
Strong Kotlin expertise
Experience with Jetpack Compose and solid knowledge of XML-based UI development
Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
Experience with dependency injection using Dagger 2
Experience with multi-module architecture
Strong understanding of MVVM and/or MVI architecture patterns
Experience working with REST APIs
Ability to work effectively with legacy codebases
Experience with Gradle, including multi-flavor project configuration
Strong product mindset with the ability to challenge existing implementations and collaborate with Product Managers
Active daily use of AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency
Nice to have:
Experience building and maintaining white-label mobile applications
Experience with real-time communication using Socket.IO and/or WebSockets
Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, and Keycloak
Experience with feature flagging solutions (e.g. Unleash or similar)
Experience integrating analytics platforms (e.g. Firebase, Amplitude)
Experience with DataStore (Preferences/Proto), Room, and WorkManager for background synchronization
Experience with Gradle dependency locking
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of the VIPER architecture pattern
Familiarity with the Android release process, including Google Play Store and Firebase App Distribution
Experience working on restaurant technology or other high-frequency, staff-facing consumer platforms
