Salary: AUD 140000 - 145000 per annum

Android Engineer | Kotlin | Melbourne

We’re working with a leading mobile application consultancy that is building out its Melbourne engineering capability ahead of a major initiative with one of Australia’s leading enterprise organisations.

They’re looking for an Android Engineer to join on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, working as part of a highly experienced mobile engineering team.

The immediate focus will be on the client’s existing Android application, ensuring it continues to perform reliably while a new application is being developed in parallel. This means a mix of BAU engineering, enhancements, production support and ongoing improvements rather than purely greenfield development.

You’ll be working alongside some highly regarded mobile engineers and architects, while gaining exposure to a large enterprise environment and developing your stakeholder management skills.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong commercial Android engineering experience
  
  
• Excellent Kotlin development skills
  
  
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
  
  
• Experience working on complex, production mobile applications
  
  
• Comfortable working across BAU, enhancements and application improvements
  
  
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  
  
• A senior engineer who can operate autonomously while contributing effectively within a squad
  
  
• Broader engineering experience outside Android is advantageous
  
  

This consultancy specialises in mobile engineering and has a strong pipeline of new initiatives. While this engagement is initially a 12-month FTC, they have a track record of wanting to retain good engineers as new projects and opportunities emerge.

Location: Melbourne CBD
Working model: Hybrid, working onsite with the end client up to 3 days per week
Engagement: 12-month fixed-term contract
Salary: $140,000–$145,000 + super
