Animal Health Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily pen checks to identify and monitor cattle health concerns.
- Administer treatments and follow established animal health and welfare protocols.
- Safely handle, sort, move, and ship cattle using low-stress livestock handling techniques.
- Monitor cattle performance and communicate health observations and trends to management.
- Maintain accurate treatment, inventory, and cattle movement records.
- Operate equipment safely and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Support facility upkeep and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Assist with day-to-day feedlot operations and other operational priorities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6–12 months of hands-on cattle health or livestock experience.
- Knowledge of cattle health, behavior, handling, and animal care practices.
- Ability to identify health concerns and follow treatment protocols accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
- Basic math skills for treatment calculations and documentation.
- Commitment to animal welfare, safety, and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and in varying weather conditions.
