AOTS Sr. Electrical Engineer 資深電氣工程師(高科)

Purpose

To provide technical and onsite support for safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of all electrical equipment installed and operating at Air Products facilities in Taiwan, and at any other facility in Asia as directed by AOTS Electrical Manager.

Nature and Scope

Air Products’ main businesses are air separation and hydrogen production. These facilities are continuous-process plants that typically operate year-round, with short outages for maintenance; target on-stream time should be at least 98%.

For an Air Separation Unit (ASU), electrical power is a primary input required to produce ASU products. Continuous operation depends on a broad range of electrical equipment, including medium-voltage induction motors, medium-voltage air- and gas-insulated switchgear, synchronous generators, low-voltage variable frequency drives, and plant loads supplied from low-voltage motor/power control centers and medium-voltage switchgear lineups.

The ASU is typically classified as a non-hazardous (safe) area. The hydrogen generation plant is electrically classified as a hazardous area. Electrical equipment installed throughout the site, including equipment located in classified areas, shall comply with applicable international standards and Air Products electrical standards and specifications.

Electrical power supply configurations vary by plant. In general, power is supplied at utility voltage levels (up to 161 kV) and stepped down via transformers to distribution and utilization voltages for induction motors and other loads. In some plants, a standby diesel generator provides backup power required to maintain operation of critical pipeline equipment. This configuration is applicable to both ASU and hydrogen generation plants.

Plants in the region are expected to demonstrate leadership in electrical safety, operational safety, and process safety within their local industrial environment. AOTS Senior Electrical Engineer is a key member of the Asia electrical technical team and provides technical leadership for electrical matters across the plants. The role operates within a matrix structure, with direct-line reporting to the AOTS Electrical Manager and indirect line reporting to the plant management. AOTS Senior Electrical Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment. In partnership with site maintenance teams, AOTS Senior Electrical Engineer supports on-stream performance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment issues. AOTS Senior Electrical Engineer is also expected to develop plant procedures addressing safe operation, safe isolation, and lockout/tagout.

MAIN AND PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ensure all Air Products electrical safety rules and standards are followed properly.
2. Train and qualify plant staff who work with electrical equipment (e.g. MV switchgear, LV systems).
3. Support operations and maintenance teams to keep electrical equipment running safely and reliably, including troubleshooting problems.
4. Ensure any electrical changes or upgrades are done safely and without disrupting plant operations.
5. Provide clear technical guidance, documents, and support to help site teams repair and troubleshoot equipment safely.
6. Plan and carry out projects as directed by AOTS Regional Management.

4. 確保所有電氣變更、改造及優化措施依據既定程序安全執行，並避免對生產運作造成影。
5. 提供完整且清晰之技術文件、標準作業程序及專業指導，以支援現場團隊進行設備維修及故障排除作業。
6. 依據AOTS 區域管理指示，負責相關專案之規劃、執行及進度管控，並確保達成既定目標與品質要求。
