Application and Integration Architect

Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain enterprise-wide database architectures, data models, schemas, analytics platforms, BI services, and data governance solutions, ensuring compliance with established design, development, quality, and testing standards.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business, user, and technical requirements, translating them into effective architecture and solution designs.
- Map business goals, project benefits, priorities, system components, and functional requirements to architecture deliverables and technology solutions.
- Analyze existing systems, applications, and services, identify gaps and constraints, and evaluate potential solution options to address business and technical needs.
- Design, estimate, and size network and infrastructure requirements in accordance with system specifications and business application demands.
- Maintain, govern, and track architectural designs and artifacts throughout the full system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
- Contribute to system design, development, testing, quality assurance, change management, and deployment activities to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Lead development teams and development processes, providing architectural direction and technical guidance across implementation activities.
- Select and evaluate technologies, collect and interpret system metrics, and optimize solutions from performance, security, quality, and scalability perspectives.
- Prepare technical documentation and stakeholder presentations, while contributing to the Enterprise Architecture repository and maintaining all required architectural artifacts.
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a related domain.
- Possession of at least two (2) certifications among Iasa Architect CITA-A, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, TIBCO Certified Associate, Certified SOA Architect, or internationally recognized equivalent certifications
- Proven experience as a lead or key architect in at least one enterprise-wide integration platform implementation, with extensive experience aligning application development and integration initiatives with business needs.
- Expert knowledge of system integration architectures at data and API levels, including the design of enterprise integration platform connectors, integration flows, service buses, and hybrid application integration solutions.
- Strong expertise in planning, sizing, securing, and governing enterprise integration platform capabilities and services.
- Solid understanding of integration patterns, standards, architecture styles, and architectural modelling approaches, including experience with the European Interoperability Framework or similar interinstitutional frameworks.
- Extensive technical knowledge of integration technologies and platforms such as MuleSoft, TIBCO, SOA architectures, databases, application servers, communication middleware, web applications, cloud integration patterns, business intelligence concepts, systems integration, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Experience designing solutions across cloud, on-premises, serverless, containerized, and hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of systems and application design using UML, ArchiMate, and other architecture modelling methodologies.
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture and modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with architecture standards and frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman Framework, Azure Well-Architected Framework, or similar industry-recognized methodologies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills, combined with experience working within DevSecOps environments and applying best practices in secure solution delivery.
- Eligibility to obtain an EU Personal Security Clearance, at a later stage is required.
- Very good command of English (minimum B2 level).
