Application Architect
Summary
Design and govern cloud-native application architectures on AWS, lead POCs, and drive DevOps adoption with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design and govern application architectures in collaboration with Solution Architects, development teams, and business stakeholders.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable application solutions.
- Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) and technical evaluations to validate architectural approaches, technologies, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and best practices.
- Review solution designs and implementations to ensure quality, security, performance, and operational readiness.
- Define and promote cloud-native architecture patterns leveraging AWS services and modern engineering practices.
- Drive DevOps adoption by implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to enable automated and reliable deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, Security, and Operations to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide architectural recommendations to address business and technology challenges.
- Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, application design, or application architecture.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise applications and cloud-native solutions.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Experience conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs), technology evaluations, and architectural assessments.
- Strong knowledge of application architecture patterns, microservices, APIs, and system integration.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of application security, scalability, performance optimization, and reliability principles.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer) are preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English.

- AWS Cloud Services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Terraform, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, REST APIs.
- Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration platforms.
- Architecture documentation and design modeling tools.
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities.
