Application Architect / Functional Analyst
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Application Architect / Functional Analyst to support the modernization of a complex IT environment combining legacy systems with modern Cloud and hybrid architectures. You will help improve architecture, reduce technical debt, and ensure secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional and technical analysis for business projects.
- Design and review application, data and integration architectures.
- Advise development teams on technologies, architectural patterns, performance and scalability.
- Lead design reviews and validate Proofs of Concept.
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security and development standards.
- Bridge communication between business, development, security and infrastructure teams.
- Analyse and resolve complex business and technical problems.
- Ensure consistency between legacy and modern systems.
- Apply Security by Design principles and translate NIS2 requirements into technical measures.
- Document architectural decisions and support knowledge sharing within teams.
Requirements
- Strong experience in functional analysis and application architecture.
- Expert knowledge of modern Java, Spring, microservices, API-driven and event-driven architectures.
- Good knowledge of data modelling, data integration and data security.
- Strong experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Atlassian/Jira.
- Experience working within a federal public-sector environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of security, compliance and NIS2 requirements.
- Languages: Dutch, French and English.
