The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect to support one of our consulting clients on a Federal Government project in Canberra.

This role will provide technical leadership and architectural governance across a complex enterprise technology environment. You will guide solution design, influence technical decisions and support the integration and modernisation of enterprise applications.

Working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, you will help deliver secure, sustainable technology solutions aligned with project requirements and organisational objectives.

This opportunity suits an experienced architect with strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex technology environments while delivering practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance across enterprise applications and technology platforms.

* Define solution architectures and guide technical decision-making across complex environments.

* Lead technical investigations and contribute to major incident resolution.

* Develop technology roadmaps, lifecycle plans and application modernisation strategies.

* Identify architectural risks and address security, compliance and governance requirements.

* Support the onboarding, transition and integration of applications and technology services.

* Identify opportunities for service improvement, platform uplift and technology optimisation.

* Engage with technical and business stakeholders to align technology solutions with strategic and operational objectives.

Skills and Experience

* Demonstrated experience in applications architecture, solution design and enterprise technology integration.

* Strong understanding of enterprise systems, application integration and complex technical environments.

* Experience developing architectural roadmaps and supporting technology lifecycle management.

* Ability to assess technical risks and incorporate security, compliance and governance requirements into solution design.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience investigating complex technical issues.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

* Ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

* Experience within Federal Government, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated environments is highly regarded.
