Application Control Security Analyst

Salary: $750-850 per day including Super

We are seeking an experienced Application Control Security Analyst to support the deployment and ongoing operation of a new application control capability.
Reporting to the Group Information Security Officer and working closely with the broader Information Security team, you will help reduce cyber security risks by ensuring that only approved software can run across laptops, notebooks, desktop computers and servers.

You will collaborate with EUC, Server, application support and packaging teams, as well as the organization's application control vendor, BeyondTrust.

Key responsibilities

• Review, approve or decline software requests through the application control portal
• Assess applications based on business need, security risk, vendor reputation, vulnerabilities and licensing requirements
• Create and maintain allow, block and exception rules
• Support the deployment of application control across end-user devices and servers
• Work with technical teams to test, validate and deploy approved software
• Investigate blocked applications, failed installations, compatibility issues and user impacts
• Coordinate the removal or remediation of unapproved, unsupported or high-risk software
• Maintain accurate records of decisions, exceptions, standards and control changes

Skills and experience

• Strong experience in application control, application whitelisting, endpoint security or software governance
• Demonstrated experience deploying or supporting application control capabilities
• Sound technical knowledge across EUC, desktop devices and server environments
• Experience working in cyber security, desktop engineering, application packaging, application support or server support
• Exposure to BeyondTrust or a comparable application control platform would be highly regarded
• Ability to assess software risk and explain technical decisions in clear business language
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across internal technical teams and external vendors
