Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Delivery Manager with strong expertise in the insurance industry to lead the delivery, enhancement, and support of business-critical insurance applications.

The successful candidate will beres ponsible for managing end-to-end application delivery, coordinating with business and technology stakeholders, ensuring delivery governance, and driving projects and programs to successful completion. The role requires a strong understanding of insurance processes, application lifecycles, delivery methodologies, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Mergers and acquisitions experience is not mandatory. The primary focus is on candidates with proven experience in insurance application delivery, governance, stakeholder management, and end-to-end project or program execution.

Key Responsibilities

Application Delivery Management

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of insurance application projects, enhancements, integrations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage the complete application delivery lifecycle from requirements gathering and planning through implementation, stabilization, and transition to support.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with agreed scope and quality standards.
  • Coordinate application releases, upgrades, migrations, integrations, and production deployments.
  • Ensure effective incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
  • Oversee application performance, availability, operational stability, and service quality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application processes, delivery efficiency, automation, and service outcomes.

Insurance Domain Delivery

  • Work closely with insurance business functions such as:
  • Underwriting
  • Policy administration
  • Claims
  • Billing and payments
  • Product management
  • Distribution and commissions
  • Reinsurance
  • Customer and broker servicing
  • Regulatory and compliance operations
  • Translate insurance business requirements into practical technology delivery plans.
  • Support delivery of policy, claims, billing, customer, broker, and insurance product solutions.
  • Ensure application changes align with insurance operating models, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, product owners, business analysts, architects, vendors, and delivery teams.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary delivery contact for business, technology, operations, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Establish strong working relationships with senior business leaders, product owners, project sponsors, and technology teams.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, status reviews, planning sessions, risk reviews, and governance forums.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations and ensure alignment across multiple business and technology teams.
  • Resolve delivery conflicts and drive timely decision-making.

Delivery Governance

  • Establish and maintain appropriate delivery governance frameworks, standards, and controls.
  • Manage project plans, delivery roadmaps, milestones, budgets, dependencies, risks, assumptions, issues, and actions.
  • Produce regular management reporting and executive-level status updates.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational methodologies, architecture standards, information security policies, and regulatory controls.
  • Maintain appropriate project and delivery documentation.
  • Monitor delivery quality, resource capacity, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Lead quality gates, governance reviews, readiness assessments, and implementation approvals.

Project and Program Execution

  • Lead multiple concurrent projects, workstreams, or programs across the insurance technology landscape.
  • Develop delivery approaches, implementation plans, resource models, and integrated project schedules.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including internal staff, offshore teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Track progress against objectives and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Manage dependencies across applications, infrastructure, data, security, architecture, and business operations.
  • Support testing, data migration, business readiness, training, cutover, and post-implementation activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lessons-learned activities across the delivery portfolio.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Insurance, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 8–12 years of experience in technology delivery, application management, project management, or program delivery.
  • Significant experience delivering applications or technology solutions within the insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes, including policy administration, claims, billing, underwriting, or distribution.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end projects, programs, application enhancements, or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and executive communication.
  • Strong knowledge of delivery governance, risk management, issue management, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, system integrators, and distributed delivery teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Sapiens, Salesforce Insurance, or similar solutions.
  • Experience with policy administration, claims management, billing, underwriting, or customer-service platforms.
  • Exposure to application modernization, cloud migration, system integration, API enablement, or data transformation.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, audit, or risk-related technology initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based application support and service management processes.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-vendor, geographically distributed programs.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Scrum Master, ITIL, or an equivalent qualification.
