Application Developer

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Application Developer to join our team in Remote.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create, update, maintain, and interpret required Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation, including software architecture products, to support ongoing system accreditations.
  • Collaborate with management, internal technical teams, and Sponsor authorities to successfully navigate the system accreditation process for mobility systems.
  • Document responses to required controls, maintaining a robust documentation library and network diagrams while formulating policies, procedures, and integrity standards.
  • Conduct routine vulnerability scanning across all Sponsor networks, monitor and tune software solutions, and implement required security updates per applicable STIGs.
  • Oversee security event monitoring policies, maintain baseline system configurations, and ensure continuous availability across multiple production and development environments.
  • Partner with customers and stakeholders to gather user requirements, deliver complete, functional systems, and proactively communicate progress, risks, and options.
  • Support end-to-end software development projects and recommend approved process or policy improvements to strengthen the overall security posture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience
  • Experience with JavaScript, Java, Oracle P/SQL, and Perl
  • Ability to work independently as a member of a geographically diverse team

Preferred Qualification:

  • Active Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification with previous experience supporting cyber security mitigation strategies.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems Security and hands-on experience contributing as part of an Agile development team.
  • Significant experience navigating the Sponsor's accreditation process and ICD 503 requirements, especially as it relates to creating A&A Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical experience with Red Hat Linux, .NET 4.x, Apache Tomcat, Apache 2.4, IIS 10, Oracle (12g/19C), and SQL Server (2012/2019).
  • Experience working across large teams to drive security agendas for complex, intertwined systems, while inventorying networks and managing network security compliance, patching, and centralized authentication.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex IT, network, and security documentation in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a high level of motivation, adaptability to learn new technologies, and the ability to work independently within a geographically diverse team.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
