About us
BCS, a wholly owned subsidiary of NETS and part of the NETS Group, manages and operates the clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House. This includes services such as Fast and Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), and the Cheque Truncation System (CTS). BCS also supports PayNow and the SGQR Central Repository, among other services. The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.
About the role
The Application Developer will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned technology solutions. The scope includes development, design, prototyping, and supporting delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
Provide hands-on support including prototyping and coding
Build proof-of-concepts (POCs)
Build Java and Web applications on AWS and On-premises
Support build, deployment, and testing phases
Ensure compliance with security and best practices
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Conduct performance and capacity assessments
Deep dive and solve engineering problems
Develop and maintain expertise in Java technologies (e.g., Struts, Spring Boot / Spring Batch), Tomcat, Oracle 19c, React JS, ServiceNow and AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch)
About you
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building and managing critical applications
Strong experience in Java technologies (e.g., Spring Boot / Spring Batch)
Proficient in React JS / Angula JS
Experience in supporting critical application workloads on AWS Cloud
Hands-on, detailed and a team player exemplifying the "can-do" attitude
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
AWS Cloud Certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or Developer Associate)
