The Opportunity

The Application Life Cycle Manager is responsible for the disciplined operation, governance, and application lifecycle management of the organization’s Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, and Power Platform environment. The role owns the platform foundation beneath business applications, including environment strategy, source control, automated deployments, release governance, performance, and operational controls.

The immediate focus of the role is to stabilize and modernize the Power Platform deployment model by reducing long deployment cycles, remediating configuration drift across environments, and establishing a repeatable Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline as the single controlled path to Production. The role works closely with Enterprise Technology and Business Solutions, security, application owners, makers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure Power Platform solutions are secure, supportable, auditable, and aligned with organizational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and operate the end-to-end Power Platform solution lifecycle using a build-once, deploy-many model, with managed solutions promoted through approved environments.
  • Design, build, tune, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform and Dynamics 365 deployments, including build automation, release approvals, audit trails, deployment settings, environment variables, and connection references.
  • Diagnose and significantly reduce solution deployment times through solution segmentation, dependency management, layer cleanup, pipeline tuning, and release-process optimization.
  • Establish Git-based source control as the single master record for solution components, including unpacking and packing solutions using Power Platform Build Tools and Power Platform CLI.
  • Audit, remediate, and prevent configuration drift across Development, Test/UAT, Sandbox, and Production environments, including unmanaged-over-managed layer issues.
  • Design and maintain the Power Platform environment topology, including Development, Test/UAT, full-copy Sandbox, and Production, with appropriate capacity, storage, refresh cadence, and data-protection controls.
  • Establish a deployment rehearsal process using production-like sandbox environments so releases can be tested and validated before Production promotion.
  • Implement and operate platform governance controls, including Managed Environments, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector governance, maker controls, and Power Platform Center of Excellence practices.
  • Maintain tenant-wide visibility of apps, flows, connectors, makers, environments, and platform usage, and produce regular operational reporting for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Apply platform security controls, including least-privilege access, Power Platform security roles, Power Pages web roles, table permissions, privileged action auditability, and alignment with Entra ID and Microsoft 365 security practices.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, deployment documentation, support models, and platform standards.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to project teams, functional consultants, makers, vendors, and business stakeholders on Power Platform ALM, governance, release readiness, and platform operations.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure DevOps, Dataverse, governance, and security best practices.
  • Other related duties or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in platform administration, DevOps, release engineering, systems administration, or application operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Dynamics 365, or comparable enterprise low-code/cloud platform administration.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or operating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or comparable DevOps tooling.
  • Experience administering environments and releases in a production enterprise setting, ideally within a regulated, public sector, financial services, healthcare, or professional regulatory environment.
  • Experience producing operational documentation, release procedures, governance standards, and support runbooks.

Hiring Range: $98,046 - $122,558 per annum.
Placement within this range will be determined according to the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated competencies.
