Application Support & Automation Engineer
We are looking for an Application Support & Automation Engineer to join an international team responsible for supporting and operating critical banking applications. We are seeking a professional with experience in Application Support (L1/L2), strong troubleshooting skills, and solid knowledge of automation, cloud technologies, and infrastructure, who can contribute to the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of services.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide application support for critical solutions within a banking environment.
- Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and operational support activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations and shift-based support activities.
- Monitor application performance, availability, and stability.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and business continuity tests.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts for provisioning, configuration, and deployment automation.
- Contribute to technology modernization initiatives, including the containerization of legacy applications.
- Administer and support environments based on Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support and train other team members on automation and infrastructure-related topics.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational process optimization.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations, Application Support, or Software Engineering.
- Experience in L1/L2 Application Support, preferably within banking or financial services environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line administration (CLI).
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL and database troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, ideally Dynatrace.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or similar platforms.
- Scripting experience using Python and/or Bash.
- Experience working with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with a cloud provider (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with Ansible and Docker
