Application Support Engineer- SQL- Growing Fintech

Salary: AUD 110000 per annum, + super+ 5% bonus

A growing Fintech organisation based in Sydney CBD is currently seeking a Production Support Engineer (Application Support Engineer) to join their company on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

• Provide application and production support across business-critical systems, with a focus on loan application platforms and related software.
• Investigate incidents by gathering evidence, reviewing data, analysing logs, reproducing issues and identifying root cause or escalation paths.
• Use SQL, Snowflake and Linux fundamentals to support troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Communicate issue status, business impact, next steps and expected resolution timeframes to business stakeholders in clear, simple language.
• Work closely with external vendors, raising detailed tickets with screenshots, affected transactions, examples and business impact.
• Prioritise multiple incidents based on urgency, customer impact, business impact and operational risk.
• Support some broader IT activity when required, such as onboarding, Windows environment support, asset management or infrastructure-adjacent tasks.

Key Skills/ Experience:

• Experience in application support/ production support roles
• Strong SQL skills and confidence using SQL to investigate, troubleshoot or resolve application issues.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Linux experience
• Understanding of database management concepts such as access management, auditing, backups and restores.

Desired:

• PostgreSQL experience
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Exposure to API integrations or scripting languages.
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve troubleshooting, documentation or productivity.
