Application Support Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience
• Strong experience with Java or another object-oriented language
• Experience with Oracle/SQL and relational databases
• Knowledge of Hibernate, JUnit, JMS and XML
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience mentoring or leading developers
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Logistics or warehouse automation experience is desirable
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required
• Full and legal rights to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available

• Develop and support commercial software using Java and Oracle
• Provide second-level support and troubleshoot complex customer issues
• Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis
• Manage fixes, patches and software releases
• Mentor and support junior developers
• Work closely with Project Managers and Service Account Managers
• Create technical documentation and knowledge base articles
• Support continuous improvement and system stability
