Application & Systems Manager
Description
About the role
We are looking for a manager to own that chain end to end. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely managerial one. You will lead a small team of developers, decide what gets built and in what order, write the specifications they work from, and review what comes back.
You will also be the person who can look at a production issue and say, with evidence, whether it lives in the application, the database, the network, or a vendor's platform.
Our systems have grown organically alongside a fast-growing business. They work, they carry real revenue, and they carry real technical debt. Bringing version control, a proper test-and-release path, and documented change control to a team that has been shipping without them is part of the mandate. If that prospect reads as interesting rather than alarming, we would like to talk to you.
Key responsibilities
Know the business flow end to end — from stock leaving the warehouse to revenue posting in SAP
Hold a single prioritised backlog across all systems, and defend that order to business stakeholders
Answer questions with data you queried yourself, not with estimates
Write clear PRDs: objective, scope, user stories with acceptance criteria, business rules, worked examples, test scenarios, edge cases, open questions, and implementation notes
Set priorities and a definition of done that can actually be verified
Review code and test evidence before anything reaches production
Coach your developers so the team gets stronger — rather than absorbing all the hard work yourself
Introduce version control and a UAT-to-production release path the team genuinely uses
Require before/after evidence, rollback scripts, and approval for any change touching live data
Triage incidents across application, database, network, and third-party services, and isolate the real cause with evidence
About you
5+ years building web or business systems, including 2+ years as a team lead or engineering manager
Strong PHP/Laravel and SQL — good enough to read someone else's long query and find the fault in it
Experience with systems where real money moves, and an instinct for why change control matters
Working understanding of an ERP with inventory and accounts receivable — SAP Business One strongly preferred, comparable ERP experience considered
Ability to write specifications a developer can act on without a follow-up meeting
Enough infrastructure, networking, and security knowledge to troubleshoot and to hold vendors to account
Professional Thai and English, sufficient for specifications and vendor management
Nice to have
SAP Business One technical experience (DI API, Service Layer, or SQLScript on HANA)
Background in POS, van sale, field sales, or multi-branch retail
Experience introducing Git workflow or CI/CD to a team that had neither
Bank or payment-gateway reconciliation experience
Familiarity with PDPA and access control over customer data
