Applications Manager Job Description
ABOUT US:
The h.wood Group is a Los Angeles based hospitality and lifestyle company with a diversified portfolio of upscale nightlife & restaurant concepts. The company is responsible for some of the most iconic brands in the world, including Delilah, The Nice Guy, and Bootsy Bellows, among many others. In addition to hospitality concepts, The h.wood Group offers corporate branding, catering, event production and marketing services. We are committed to providing a warm, inviting, and uniquely lavish experience for our diverse clientele. Our company is built on integrity, creating the world's best restaurants, nightlife, and events.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Technology Manager, the Application Analyst supports the configuration, administration, and continual improvement of h.wood's business applications, including Point of Sale (POS) systems at all existing and new venues. The Analyst acts as the link between venue operations, corporate users, and the technology team—gathering requirements, documenting workflows, testing, and supporting applications—while coordinating closely with the development team on the features and tools that sit on top of these core applications. The focus is on reliable, secure, and well-documented systems that meet the operational and strategic needs of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between venue operations, corporate users, and the technology team for business application needs.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business and user requirements, translating operational needs into clear specifications for configuration or development.
  • Coordinate with the development team on features, tools, and integrations that sit on top of core business applications—helping scope requirements, test releases, and roll them out to end users.
  • Configure, test, and maintain POS and other business applications across existing and new venues; develop and run testing and UAT protocols to ensure the integrity of systems and processes.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data stored in these systems, support data archival and retrieval, and help keep application data secured.
  • Administer user access, user groups, and roles within applications, and support application security and permissions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, escalating to vendors or the development team when needed and tracking issues through to resolution.
  • Maintain documentation—workflows, data models, configuration, and training materials—and keep it current.
  • Support application rollouts and onboarding at new venues, including setup, testing, and user training.
  • Serve as a trainer and resource to staff, increasing their working knowledge of the applications and available technical solutions.
  • Stay current on developments in the company's application systems and recommend improvements or new features where they add operational value.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors and partner with IT Operations as needed, including supporting business continuity and disaster-recovery processes for applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience supporting, analyzing, or administering business applications; experience in a hospitality environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems (Toast and/or Simphony a plus) and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to translate operational needs into clear requirements.
  • Comfortable coordinating with developers and technical teams on application features and integrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and user-support skills.
  • Must have flexible availability.
  • Must be able to commute to our corporate office in West Hollywood, CA.
PERKS:
  • Flexible, routine-time off
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance with company contribution offered the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
  • Company Dining Discount
  • Full-time, exempt position
