PureAir is seeking ann Applications Engineer to lead the Pure Air's Applications Engineering function while providing advanced technical sales support and applications engineering expertise. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and assists with proposal development, equipment sizing and selection, technical sales support, process improvement, and long-term departmental development. The successful candidate will be a strategic, customer-centric technical leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Preference will be provided to those that have been directly involved in developing technical support for similar products lines in the municipal or industrial market and have had sales and business development experience with other closely related technologies. This is a full-time position based at the Company’s Norcross, Georgia facility.
Essential Job Functions
- Establish and lead the Pure Air's Applications Engineering function, including development of processes, workflows, documentation standards, and quality controls.
- Generate accurate and timely quotations and proposals for municipal and industrial customers.
- Partner with the Sales team to provide advanced applications engineering support and equipment recommendations based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and budget constraints.
- Develop detailed technical and commercial proposals, including process descriptions, system designs, equipment lists, drawings, specifications, clarifications, exceptions, and pricing.
- Prepare material and labor cost estimates for engineered equipment and systems.
- Review customer specifications and assess technical, commercial, and warranty risks while providing recommendations to management.
- Maintain accurate proposal, quotation, customer, and project records within company databases and CRM systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering to support the design of new products, components, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support manufacturing and process improvement initiatives through product evaluation, design modifications, testing, and vendor collaboration.
- Assist in research and development efforts related to equipment design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Partner with Marketing to improve sales tools, collateral materials, and technical reference information.
- Develop application guides, sizing tools, calculators, and selection resources to improve technical consistency and efficiency.
- Recommend future staffing requirements, organizational structure, and skillsets needed to support continued company growth.
- Lead implementation of Applications Engineering procedures, including quotation request processes, template standardization, and vendor communication protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of engineering experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, process engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on technical applications engineering while developing new processes, systems, and organizational capabilities.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate customer requirements and develop engineered solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the continental United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting sales organizations through proposal development, bidding, and quotation of capital equipment projects.
- Experience with municipal water, wastewater, odor control, air treatment, or related industrial markets.
- Knowledge of gas-phase filtration technologies and equipment sizing methodologies.
- Experience defining system design requirements and technical specifications.
- Experience with mechanical equipment design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience utilizing CRM software, preferably Odoo.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Sales, business development, or customer-facing engineering experience.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
Work Environment
- Approximately 90% office environment.
- Approximately 10% customer jobsites.
- Limited exposure to manufacturing, industrial, and customer facility environments.
- May be exposed to areas with elevated noise levels, industrial equipment, chemicals, and other manufacturing conditions.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and training will be provided when required.

This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary for this position is between $85,000.00 and $100,000.00 annually. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD&D insurance available for eligible employees.
