APU Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
Drives translating and implementation of plant operations strategy into projects, action plans and metrics in the entrusted APU Drives strategic, tactical and system activities to achieve key production metrics incl output from the lines, technical KPIs, financial KPIs
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor people, fairly evaluate people’s performance, drive talent upgrade and organization strength.
- Ensure working standards are respected in the APU during the operations (safety, work instructions, quality, respect of the product).
- Monitor competences for his/her team and develop its autonomy (training plan building, follow-up & training actions implementation).
- Develop his/her team and successors: Conduct performance reviews, salary reviews within GCP process, career interviews, succession planning (MRR process) & provide feedback
- Drive and communicate mindset of continuous improvement & responsibility vs. targets achievement inside the APU.
- Be responsible for customer satisfaction. Be accountable for SPQDCI performance and profitability of his/her APU, in terms of targets achievement, and improvement.
- Ensure optimal use of equipment (OEE) and people (OPE/UPH).
- Validate monthly the demonstrated capacity of his/ her APU and communicate to SC for SIOP / MPS.
- Weekly commit on MPS. Respect daily the MPS contract.
- Maintain process capability and equipment gage R&R in conjunction with Process Quality
- Accountable to train and develop process specialists and the operators in equipment
- Accountable to train the production for the introduction of new product or process technology
- Maintain and improve process controls for Quality and productivity
- Lead daily APU RPS (Safety, Quality, Direct Labor efficiency, Maintenance)
- Lead workstation ergonomics risk analysis and waste elimination
- Propose APU lay out evolutions to simplify flows
- Manage the GEM deployment plan & Cost reduction activities of his/her APU, ensuring that there are permanently workshops ongoing to improve its APU, challenged by him/her.
- Coordination of Corrective maintenance following timing and procedure (on shop floor/MNT room)
- Planning of preventive / predictive maintenance following timing and procedure < 1month.
- Prepare Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for his/her APU including investments needed
- Manage the budget of his/her APU and allocates the appropriate resources in respect with the budget perimeter. Implement necessary corrective actions for compliance
- Contribute to successful new projects launch (NPI), Support NPI Activities on his/her APU
- Be involved in the industrialization of new projects, ODT, PPAP, Run@Rate and SOPs and facilitate by his / her actions proper start ups
- Validate Change Management actions in his/her APU and perform Hand Over according the standards
- Ensure continuous improvement maintenance processes (Kaizen and TPM)
- Cost guarding (consumable parts, OPEX, CAPEX...)
- Run Stop Scrap Projects to achieve scrap objectives in his/her APU
- Achieve quality KPI (ppm, CPU, CQI, CQC, Customer Quality Index)
- Qualifications:
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Higher degree/MBA preferred.
- Experience in western company or JV preferred but not required.
- Computer literacy and high demand of English capability
- Hands-on, driving management style preferred
Experience
- Experience in manufacturing management in the industry requiring high production mix, adherence to procedures and high quality levels.
- Experience in the automotive or heavy industry requiring metal cutting and precision machining preferred. However, the management ability and people skills is the key to this position and candidates from other manufacturing industries will be considered
- Previous experience in direct supervision of production employees required.
- Must have experience in lean implementation and working knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma strategies and principles.
- Must be a proven/experienced & working knowledge of Toyota Production system
- Must have significant cycles of learning & conducting Kaizen events
