The Aquatic Operations Coordinator is responsible for execution the day-to-day operations of the JCC’s aquatics facilities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment while supporting staff, members, and aquatics programming. During the summer season, this position also serves as the designated Site Manager for the Metairie pool, providing operational leadership and direction to staff on behalf of Aquatics Director and Aquatics Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execution of day-to-day operations of the JCC aquatics facilities, with particular attention to safety, training, operational procedures, and a positive member experience.
  • Ensure the safety of all patrons by following established operational protocols and procedures.
  • Provide lifeguard coverage and pool party coverage when necessary.
  • Serve as a resource and role model for lifeguards on aquatics-related issues.
  • Assist in enforcing lifeguard staff rotations and schedules.
  • Teach LGI classes for members, staff, and the community.
  • Monitor pool chemical balance and maintain accurate records in accordance with the Model Aquatic Health Code.
  • Follow all applicable Health and Safety Regulations mandated by OSHA.
  • Maintain ADA standards and complete weekly inspections of pool lifts.
  • Inspect AED/First Aid supplies and rescue equipment every two weeks and work with the aquatics management team to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Know and follow the facility Emergency Action Plan and assist or provide direct emergency care and treatment as needed.
  • Assist with preparations before and after inclement weather.
  • Complete daily safety checks of pool equipment and the surrounding pool area and report facility hazards to supervisors.
  • Assist with basic daily operations and maintenance of the aquatic facility, including daily chemical checks and the addition of pool chemicals as directed.
  • Respond promptly to member inquiries regarding private pool parties and clearly communicate offerings and guidelines.
  • Complete required paperwork to ensure pool rentals are reserved, payment is received, and events are properly staffed.
  • Monitor the environment and enforce the member code of conduct, addressing and reporting incidents to the Aquatics Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Attend work on a regular, reliable, and punctual basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:
October - April: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 am- 7:30 pm
May - September: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 am- 5:30 pm
