Aquatic Rehabilitation Specialist
RATE: $20-$22 PER SESSION (HALF HOUR CLASS)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct aquatic rehabilitation sessions in a safe, effective, and professional manner based on participant needs and program goals.
- Develop and implement individualized aquatic exercise plans to support mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, and overall wellness.
- Collaborate with aquatics staff and other wellness professionals to ensure effective program coordination while assisting with program development, participant retention, and the promotion of aquatic rehabilitation services.
- Lead participants through therapeutic aquatic exercises by providing clear instruction, encouragement, appropriate modifications, and guidance on the safe and proper use of aquatic equipment.
- Assess participant abilities and adjust activities based on individual limitations, progress, and safety considerations.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to participant needs, including changes in physical condition or signs of distress.
- Communicate effectively and provide exceptional member service by responding to participant, caregiver, healthcare provider, and staff questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, while sharing progress, goals, and program recommendations.
- Document participant attendance, progress, exercise plans, and any concerns according to organizational procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming aquatic environment by monitoring participants, enforcing pool rules, following emergency procedures, and ensuring the proper setup, use, and storage of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, safety standards, accessibility guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director or program supervisor.
