Job Purpose:

POSITION SUMMARY

The All Sport Health & Fitness Aquatics Director will lead and grow our Aquatics Department. This position is responsible for the overall management of aquatic operations, lifeguard staffing, swim programming, safety, staff development, member experience, and program growth. The Aquatics Director will work closely with the General Manager and other department leaders to deliver exceptional experiences for our members, families, and guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Aquatics Operations & Safety

Oversee daily aquatic operations, pool safety, staffing, scheduling, and facility utilization.

Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, and pool regulations.

Maintain required certifications and ensure aquatic staff remain properly trained and certified.

Monitor pool conditions, equipment, supplies, and cleanliness; manage emergency response procedures.

Staff Leadership & Development

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards, instructors, and aquatic staff.

Communicate clear expectations and hold staff accountable for performance and customer service.

Provide ongoing coaching and professional development; address performance and disciplinary matters as needed.

Swim & Youth Programming

Develop, implement, and evaluate swim lessons and aquatic programs.

Coordinate class schedules, instructor assignments, and pool availability to maximize participation and enrollment.

Support youth programs including Camp Fit, SACC, and other children's programming as needed.

Develop innovative programs based on member and community needs and drive enrollment through outreach and relationship building.

Member & Community Engagement

Provide genuine hospitality and an exceptional experience for members, families, and guests.

Respond promptly to member questions and concerns and build strong relationships that support retention.

Develop relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners; represent All Sport at community events.

Financial & Business Management

Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting; monitor department revenue, expenses, payroll, enrollment, and performance.

Identify opportunities to improve participation, efficiency, revenue, and profitability.

Work with the marketing team to promote aquatic and youth programs through digital and traditional channels.

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

Previous aquatics management or supervisory experience required; strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and managing staff; swim programming and youth program experience preferred.

Must maintain or obtain Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid certifications.

Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on club and program needs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate as an active member of the Manager on Duty (MOD) team; collaborate with department heads and staff throughout the club.

Support All Sport's mission, values, and commitment to community; perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

REPORTS TO: General Manager

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, reach, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds throughout the workday.
