Qualifications
Certain required qualifications may be obtained within 90 days of hire, depending on the
position’s needs and organizational requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience as a swim instructor and/or lifeguard1+ year of experience
supervising and leading teams. - American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard certification
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPRO) [best practice is to
renew annually] - American Red Cross First Aid certification
- American Red Cross Emergency Oxygen Administration certification
- YMCA Lifeguard Supervisor certification
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week including:
? 20 hours of frontline duties and 20 hours of administrative work.
? Position does not exceed 40 hours per week. - Basic proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word,
Excel, and Google Drive.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of supervising and leading teams
- Strong background in aquatics and leadership
- Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages.
