The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior professional architect and senior technical consultant on actions for more than 1000 architectural properties listed on the National Register, Historic Structures, and other culturally significant resources at Joint Base San Antonio.

Performs as a professional architect in planning and designing substantial new construction, renovation, and improvement projects on real property facilities. Provides cultural resources support. Coordinates the preparation of and reviews A&E statements of work (SOW). Serves as a consulting architect on all design aspects of assigned projects. Coordinates projects with engineers in other disciplines. In conjunction with the primary duty of historic design, on a less frequent basis performs work in the construction management, program/base development, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) functions.
