A little more about your role…
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Architect Design Manager, based in Scotland and to become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at WSP Architecture.
- The role involves full time engagement initially on a significant project and leading a dynamic design team into and through successful project delivery.
- You will be a Design Manager, assisting the client and contractor team in delivery of a complex build programme of national significance.
- This role will require you to demonstrate agile thinking, focussed direction and motivation alongside measurables outcomes.
- You will for part of a wider WSP consultant team directing, coordinating, collaborating with and managing design and technical delivery.
- You will lead with excellence, ensuring that outcome and objectives are clearly managed and always communicated.
- Candidates should be able to see the big picture, whilst having suitable previous major project delivery experience to be able to resolve the detail.
Your Team
- We work on a wide range of projects including commercial offices, data centre, transportation, pharmaceutical and logistics.
- You will report directly to the Regional Director for Scotland, as well as to a client based ‘line manager’.
- Our team of 150 people are based in city centre-based offices in London, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester.
- You will be able to attend in-house CPD sessions and encouraged to develop and grow as part of the Client’s core team
Responsibilities
- Be a qualified Architect with experience post Chartership
- Work with architectural design processes aimed at simplifying complex design and logistical challenges.
- Have a working knowledge and use of Revit and BIM360.
- Have a willingness to travel, on occasion.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
- Have design manager and architectural major project experience.
