This is a remote position.

The Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of a multifunctional space in Kiambu that will serve as the central hub for all documentary-related activities. This includes meetings, training, editing, and future projects. The role demands an ability to create a functional, aesthetically pleasing design that aligns with the documentary’s objectives, ensuring all aspects of construction are carefully managed while adhering to ethical standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

1. Design a multifunctional space to support activities like meetings, training, editing, and other future needs related to the documentary.

2. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to ensure the space meets the project’s requirements.

3. Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for construction.

4. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international building codes and regulations.

5. Oversee the construction process, from initial planning through to final installation.

6. Manage the procurement of materials and equipment required for construction.

7. Coordinate with contractors, builders, and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

8. Ensure that the design is sensitive and respectful to the subjects and communities involved in the documentary.

9. Develop and implement safety protocols and guidelines for the construction site.

10. Monitor and report on the progress of construction to stakeholders, ensuring all timelines and budgetary constraints are adhered to.

11. Provide creative ideas to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the space.

12. Ensure adherence to ethical standards in architectural design.

13. Address and resolve any design-related issues that arise during the project.
