Architect

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Fort Carson is a premier United States Army post famously nicknamed the "Mountain Post". Located in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains directly south of Colorado Springs, it is celebrated as one of the most scenic and strategically vital military installations in the country.

This position is an Architect in the Engineering Division for work relating to the design and construction of buildings and other facilities at Fort Carson.

The incumbent provides advisory and consultant services both in-house and outside the installation on such matters as codes and regulations relating to buildings and other facilities of different types and purposes.

Performs as a professional architect in planning and designing substantial new construction, renovation and improvement projects on real property facilities.

Serves as a consulting architect on all design aspects of assigned projects.

Coordinates project with engineers in other disciplines.

As project leader, the position is responsible for coordinating the various aspects of project buildings with electrical, mechanical and civil engineers to ensure all the technical areas are covered, and design intentions are met.
