Architectural Assistant
The Architectural Assistant will play a key role in assisting in the delivering of architectural projects across various stages, including design development, tender documentation, contract administration, site supervision, and project management. The role involves working on a wide range of projects, including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Residential, and Places of Worship developments.
Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Assist in conceptual design, schematic design, and design development stages
- Prepare architectural drawings, details, and documentation
- Ensure design intent is maintained throughout project execution
Project & Contract Management
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Assist in contract administration, tender preparation, and tender evaluation
- Support site supervision to ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and regulations
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with the project’s Associate Director during design development and implementation
- Manage portions of projects and provide guidance to junior team members
- Participate in project meetings and ensure effective communication among stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent from universities recognized by the Board of Architects (BOA). https://www.boa.gov.sg/register/recognised-schools/
- Eligible for or holding architectural registration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
Technical Knowledge:
- Architectural design principles, space planning, and construction methodology.
- Building performance requirements, architectural detailing, and material applications.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and authority submission requirements.
- Tendering procedures, contract documentation, and basic contract administration.
- Project delivery processes from design development to construction stage.
- Industry standards and best practices in architectural projects
Skills:
- Strong design development and architectural documentation.
- Ability to produce and coordinate drawings from conceptual design through design development.
- Effective project coordination and stakeholder management.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external consultants.
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.
- Problem-solving with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in architectural software; BIM skills (Revit and/or Archicad) are an advantage.
