Area Credit Manager - Coimbatore

This role is responsible for managing the credit portfolio and ensuring healthy credit quality for the Coimbatore region. The Area Credit Manager will lead a team, implement credit policies, and assess creditworthiness for various financial products.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Lead and manage a team of credit officers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
* Develop and implement credit strategies and policies aligned with company objectives and regulatory guidelines for the Coimbatore region.
* Oversee the entire credit lifecycle, including credit appraisal, sanctioning, disbursement, and recovery processes.
* Conduct thorough credit assessments and financial analysis of loan applications, including individuals and businesses.
* Identify and mitigate potential credit risks through effective underwriting practices and portfolio monitoring.
* Ensure adherence to all internal credit policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with sales and operations teams to achieve business targets while maintaining credit quality.
* Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Prepare and present credit reports and analyses to senior management.
* Stay updated on market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the credit landscape.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in credit management within the financial services industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
* Proven track record of managing a credit portfolio and achieving credit quality targets.
* In-depth knowledge of credit appraisal techniques, financial analysis, and risk management principles.
* Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in credit management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Local knowledge of the Coimbatore market is highly desirable.
