Position Summary

The Area Manager role at Datascan is an important part of building for future growth and opportunity with customers. Area Managers will work closely with their District Manager to understand the job requirements, fulfill the expectations, make up any gaps in qualifications and demonstrate competence in all aspects of the job. This role functions as the back-up to the District Manager of the team.

At times the Area Manager may be required to step into the role of leading the team and the AM should be prepared to accept that responsibility. The AM must learn a client’s requirements, how their physical inventory processes work and how the Datascan solution will be used in the field. This role will spend significant time in front of customers to ensure that customer specifications and requirements are met with best practices and efficiency that results in high levels of customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the DART system as it relates to customers
  • Communicate effectively with clients, the team and with their District and Regional managers
  • Assist with hiring and training the personnel necessary to conduct a timely inventory count.
  • Make recommendations for pay increases for hourly staff.
  • Where needed work with our HR partner on any disciplinary issues
  • Learn how to manage the hotel/vehicle requirements with an eye to cost management/safety and efficiency
  • Promptly update local and regional management on any issues encountered in the store(s)
  • Work to develop and recommend for promotion supervisors from amongst the hourly team
  • Learn how to promptly provide hours for payroll and monitor per diem information
  • Participate in discussions and make recommendations as to internal process improvements based on in-store observations and knowledge of DART
