The Opportunity
Are you ready to help shape the future of the power grid? Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Area Sales Manager, Grid Components to drive growth across the Mid-Atlantic region. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, channel partners, consultants, utilities, and internal sales teams while promoting innovative Grid Components solutions that support a more sustainable, reliable, and resilient energy future.
You will combine technical expertise with a strategic sales mindset to identify new opportunities, influence specifications, expand market presence, and develop long-term customer relationships. Working in a collaborative and matrixed environment, you will partner closely with Front-End Sales, Account Managers, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and achieve business objectives. Through presentations, webinars, technical seminars, Lunch & Learn sessions, and customer engagement activities, you will position Hitachi Energy as the preferred partner for utility, industrial, EPC, and distribution customers.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
How You'll Make an Impact
Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue, growth, and profitability targets for the Grid Components portfolio.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across utilities, EPCs, distributors, cooperatives, and industrial customers.
Build strong customer relationships and become a trusted advisor through regular engagement, presentations, and technical discussions.
Influence customer specifications and support demand-creation activities with consultants, engineering firms, and key decision-makers.
Collaborate with Front-End Sales and Account Management teams to create and execute strategic sales plans.
Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and monthly activity reporting.
Deliver technical product training, webinars, seminars, and sales enablement activities for customers and channel partners.
Gather market intelligence and competitive insights to support strategic planning and business growth.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of sales, account management, or business development experience within the utility, transmission and distribution, or medium/high-voltage industry.
Strong understanding of power systems, electrical distribution, substations, and related equipment.
Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales targets and business growth objectives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% to 50% throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
